About

Amaya is a counsellor and psychotherapist.   Her natural empathy, mentoring and coaching style to promote positive change sparked a lifetime desire to formally qualify as a counsellor and coach at the Australian College of Applied Psychology. 

Further education and qualifications within the EMDR world provided additional skills, experience and care to manage the effects of traumatic events.

Every clients’ needs are both unique and dynamic so a range of therapies and treatments are discussed and applied during the time we spend together.

Utilizing a wide range of therapeutic techniques, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Imaginal Exposure Therapy and solution focused brief therapies, Amaya combines these theories with counselling and coaching skills to help people realize their full potential and to help those become “unstuck.”

Amaya has experience in working with complex trauma, addiction, workplace bullying, abuse, motor vehicle accidents, PTSD.  These are often combined with other mental health issues such as phobias, anxiety and depression, stress.

An accredited, experienced counsellor and psychotherapist, Amaya has the ability to apply empathic and safe intervention for those at risk of suicide.

Many clients come to Amaya for support in management of traumatic incidents and memories, behavior change, self-esteem issues, self-identity, being “stuck” or are simply overwhelmed.
